Much more is being learned more about suspected Roswell shooter Mason Campbell. In fact, his family is well known in the community. His grandfather is a local dentist and his father builds homes.

Word spread quickly about this well-known boy who is accused of deliberately shooting at his fellow classmates.

Today, we learned that Mason Campbell's shooting rampage was premeditated. Police say they executed search warrants to look in his locker, in a duffle bag that hid the gun as it entered the school, and his home.

State Police confirmed the gun Campbell used was a .20 gauge pump shotgun that belonged to his parents. Police believe Campbell sawed off the handle.

Police believe Kendal Sanders, who was hit in the right shoulder, and a 12-year-old boy who was shot in the face, were sitting only 12-15 feet away from Campbell.

All these details come as a shock to those who know Campbell and his family. There are questions now about whether Mason Campbell gave warnings of his attack. Police are combing social media sites looking for any indication.

At age 12, Mason Campbell is now making his way through a complex legal system, as the district attorney figures out how to charge someone so young.

According to State Police, Mason Campbell is in Albuquerque right now. His attorney confirmed for us that Campbell is in a psychiatric hospital.
