A community fundraiser has raised enough money to bring a group of survivors from last month's Arapahoe High School shooting to visit students in Roswell.
A Roswell woman started the fundraiser to help bring the Colorado students to town after a school shooting at Berrendo Middle School rocked the community on Tuesday.
The group has met their goal of $2,000. The tentative date of their visit is Jan. 25.
Student Claire Davis was killed in the Arapahoe High shooting on December 13. The gunman, Karl Pierson, killed himself.
The two victims of the Berrendo shooting remain in a Texas hospital.
"Thank you Roswell!!! Any amounts not used after paying for all expenses of bringing the Arapahoe students from Colorado will be dispersed to families," Melissa Urban, one of the fundraiser creators, wrote on Facebook. "...we are grateful to have raised enough to bring the students."
