Pedestrian killed in West Side crash

A 50-year-old man was killed at an intersection in Albuquerque's West Side on Wednesday night.

The crash took place at the intersection of Bluewater Road and Unser Boulevard around 9 p.m. According to police officials, 50-year-old Guy Sandoval was crossing Unser against the traffic signal when he was struck by a vehicle that had a green light.

Sandoval was taken to UNM Hospital, where he pronounced dead from his injuries.

Authorities shut down the intersection for three hours overnight. The investigation is ongoing.
