A Corrales police officer, who was badly hurt in a car crash, is getting help from first responders more than 100 miles away.

Officer Jeremy Romero crashed last week during a high speed chase.

Romero broke his back.

The Santa Rosa Fire Department is raising money to help his recovery with a ‘Fill the Boot’ campaign.

They are going out with pictures of Romero on their vehicles and collecting donations.

Romero was a long-time officer in Santa Rosa.

Firefighters say they have raised close to $1,000.
