Some Albuquerque fans of the Denver Broncos are smiling Monday because of Sunday’s Super Bowl game.
Dozens of fans who bought select TV’s at Baillio’s are getting all of their money back because of something the Seattle Seahawks did.
Last year, the store gave back $114,000. This year, they’re still doing the math but so far, it looks like the reimbursements are going to total $200,000.
“It was a special perk,” said Bill Emrich.
Emrich was glued to the screen Sunday night, hoping for a win for his wallet. “I had mentioned to them that this was the deal but I said the odds are against that and one of them got up early and said you better get in here. And I saw the completed run and thought well maybe I’m a winner,” added Emrich.
The winning play – Percy Harvin returning the second half kickoff for a touchdown.
“When he broke open I was just amazed. It was incredible,” said Jeff Baillio.
Baillio said promotions like this are good for business, especially local businesses like his. “It lets people know that we’re here and it allows us to compete with the big box stores that really can’t do anything like that,” added Baillio.
Either way, it was a win-win situation. “I’m from here so I’m a Bronco fan but as I said after I won the TV, I thought I had to be a little bit for Seattle,” said Baillio.
