He's only 14-years-old, and already Jonah Thompson has the "Champion's Spirit." Jonah is a young Albuquerque athlete who is determined to reach his potential in a handful of sports and perhaps one day, even make it to the Olympic Games.

With each step through the snow, Jonah is one step closer to his goals.

"It felt pretty good," Jonah said, as he was finishing up his race. "It was fun!"

Jonah competes in snowshoeing races along the Sandia Crest, placing in the top of his age category.

Even with the big applause and national titles under his belt, snowshoeing is actually something Jonah does in the off season, when he's not riding his bicycle.

"He is a very motivated young kid," his trainer Kenth Fallen said.

Fallen says Jonah has what it takes to make it to the top.

"He's really going to be a world class athlete," Fallen said. "He has the ability to do multiple disciplines of not only cycling, but winter Olympics stuff like snowshoeing, any kind of endurance sports."

Jonah has won cycling tiles all around the country and has even traveled around the world to compete in Italy.

His goal and his biggest dream is becoming a professional cyclist. And he knows it's ambitious.

"Just when you're trying the hardest you can, when you're competing with someone, it gets tough," Jonah said.

"You can recognize it right away, and when they're motivated and they're interested, they associate training with not losing," Fallen said.

Jonah says with the support of his family and his coach, he can keep pushing through.

"I don't think I would ever stop," Jonah said.
