Candelaria at Juan Tabo is back open after a SWAT standoff early Friday.

Albuquerque police took 21-year-old Estevan Rivera into custody on several unspecified felony charges.

Around 9 p.m. Thursday, Albuquerque police officers responded to a domestic violence call at a Lowes store near the intersection. Officers made contact with a pregnant female victim and determined felony charges were present.

Police then responded to a house in the area of 11600 Candelaria NE to make contact with the victim's boyfriend, Rivera, but he refused to come out.

A SWAT team responded to the scene and negotiators convinced Rivera to surrender peacefully before 7:30 a.m.

Candelaria was shut down between Lexington and Tahiti during the incident.

Estevan Rivera, 21.
