Rio Rancho police were led on a high speed pursuit this morning after a person was robbed at an ATM.

The chase started after a man said he was robbed while taking money out of an ATM on Southern about 10 a.m. Sunday morning.

Police located a possible suspect car and after trying to pull it over, the car sped off through Rio Rancho.

With speeds hitting over 100 MPH and shots being fired out the window of the car at officers, the pursuit headed north on Unser to Hwy 550 and then went north on Hwy 4 towards Jemez Springs.

It came to end near mile post 13 on Hwy 4 when the three people inside the car fled on foot.

All three were captured a short time later.

One of the suspects was shot in the arm by officers.

Highway 4 was expected to be closed until midnight Sunday night while police continued their investigation.
