Suspects named in Rio Rancho robbery, police chase

New Mexico State Police have released the names of the suspects involved in a Rio Rancho police chase that ended in an officer-involved shooting on Sunday.

Police say 30-year-old Patrick Moran, 30-year-old Patricia Baca and 29-year-old Kevin Ngyuen robbed a man at an ATM in Rio Rancho on Sunday morning.

A Rio Rancho officer attempted to pull the suspects over, but they fled, leading police on a chase reaching speeds of 100 mph through the city. Police said the suspects also fired shots out of the car window at officers.

The pursuit ended on Highway 4 in Jemez Springs when the suspects tried to flee on foot.

State police said Ngyuen was shot in the arm during the incident and is currently at UNM Hospital being guarded by Rio Rancho police.

Moran and Baca have been booked into the Sandoval County Detention Center.

All three face several charges, including assault on an officer, assualt with the intent to commit robbery and aggravated fleeing.
