SANTA FE -- On Valentine's Day, one of the worst child abuse cases in New Mexico is being remembered in Santa Fe.

Baby Brianna would have turned 12-years-old today. She died of extreme child abuse in Las Cruces in 2002. She was almost 6-months-old.

Her mother and father were both convicted and sentenced to prison: 27 years and 57 years, respectively. Her uncle, Steven Lopez, received 51 years.

In honor of all children who have died or suffered abuse, a group will release balloons at Franklin Miles Park. The remembrance event takes place at 4 p.m.
