It's been almost two years since 4 year-old Rebecca Sanchez was killed. Police said her father and his girlfriend killed her.

Every week since Rebecca's death, her grandmother visits the cemetery to decorate the little girl's headstone. But over time, she noticed some of the decorations were missing. After complaining to the cemetery and seeing that nothing was being done, she came to KOB Eyewitness News 4 for help.

"I just put things that I know she liked, you know. Butterflies. She loved butterflies. I put a Dora doll," said Darlene Hernandez, who visits her granddaughter every Thursday.

No words can describe the pain, Darlene said, she feels every single day since Rebecca was killed. "That was my granddaughter. She's my life," added Hernandez.

But spending a few hours at Mt. Calvary Cemetery with her "Becky" helps ease the pain a bit. "I feel her. You know, I feel her in me," said Hernandez.

But one day, Hernandez noticed a flower arrangement was missing.

It didn't stop there. Hernandez said every few weeks, things are disappearing. She said she's reported it to the cemetery multiple times, but nothing has been done.

KOB learned this is something a lot of cemeteries have to deal with. "You know, people come and go all day long, seven days a week, sometimes 24 hours a day," said Richard Baca with Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Baca said there is security but because people can walk into the cemetery at anytime, it's hard to monitor what everyone is doing.

"I just want it to stop, you know. Put signs out there, put a camera, do something," said Hernandez.

Baca said they'll look at those options but he doesn't think it will stop people from stealing.

But Hernandez is hoping otherwise.
