A New Mexico mother accused of locking her daughter up inside a filthy room will learn her sentence on Monday.

Charity Calvert was scheduled to go before a Chaves County Court judge this morning.

Earlier this month, Calvert pleaded no contest to child abuse charges. Calvert and the girl's father, Edward Romero, were arrested last year after police found their daughter caged in her bedroom naked and covered in feces.

The girl, who was 5 at the time, has autism.

Romero pleaded not guilty to child abuse charges. His trial is scheduled to start in late May.

Edward Romero and Charity Calvert were charged with child abuse when police found their daughter locked in a cage.
