The Paseo Del Norte construction project is giving lots of drivers headaches. Even local businesses on that busy stretch are over the construction because they said it’s hurting them financially. But for one restaurant – business is booming.

“We’ve had a few that have gotten caught in traffic and they’ll look over and see our sign and, and they’ll stop,” said Victor Pandazis, owner of Vic’s Daily Café on Osuna.

Osuna is one of the alternate routes people are taking to avoid traffic on Paseo. Pandazis said because of that, he’s seeing more new customers coming in.

“If you want a place to go eat, you better support it,” said Pat Jackson, a longtime customer.

But Pandazis knows some local businesses on Paseo aren’t getting the same attention. “I know one person that was debating on renewing their lease. It’s a battle for them for their, for their customers to get in and out,” added Pandazis.

Pandazis said at the end of the day, businesses depend on loyal customers who support them no matter what. “Don’t let that inconvenience keep you away from it because they depend on the local traffic to pay their bills,” said Pandazis.
