An Albuquerque Sunport flight was diverted on Thursday after hitting a large bird.

According to a Southwest Airlines spokesperson, the 126-passenger flight had just taken off from the Sunport when the bird struck the plane.

There wasn't much damage to the plane, but passengers were switched to another plane as part of protocol. The flight was bound for Phoenix.

The plane will be repaired on site, according to the spokesman.
