Woman arraigned on charges in officer-involved crash

A woman accused of leading a Corrales officer on a high-speed chase that ended in a serious crash appeared in court on Monday.

Williams was arraigned in Sandoval County District Court on multiple charges, including fleeing the scene of an accident involving great bodily harm, aggravated eluding and possession of a stolen vehicle.

A judge increased her bond to $30,000 cash assurity.

Williams is believed to have been driving a stolen vehicle in the chase in January. The chase reached speeds of about 100 mph down Corrales Road.

The officer injured in the crash, Jeremy Romero, is still recovering at a rehabilitation hospital in Denver.

Officials say it is possible Romero will be paralyzed from the waist down.
