CHAPARRAL, N.M. (AP) - Authorities in southern New Mexico say a disturbance that may have begun as a domestic dispute escalated into gunfire that left one man critically wounded.
Dona Ana County sheriff's deputies say the man wounded in the Sunday incident in Chaparral is hospitalized with a wound to the torso.
Chaparral is located north of El Paso and south of Las Cruces.
No further details have been released.
