Albuquerque police say a 28-year-old woman was seen texting on her phone before she was hit and killed in a crash Wednesday night.

According to APD spokeswoman Tasia Martinez, Kristen Davies was walking across San Pedro and Indian School Road when a Ford Ranger struck her while traveling through the intersection.

Davies was pronounced dead on scene.

Witnesses told police Davies was texting and looking down when she crossed the street.

The intersection was shut down for a few hours after the crash.
