The man accused of killing his girlfriend and dumping her body in Loving N.M., appeared in court on Wednesday, officials confirmed.

Robert Earley was arraigned and a judge set his bond at $1 million cash only. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 19 in district court in Carlsbad.

Police said Earley led them to the location of Emily Lambert's body just days after he reported her missing. According to authorities, Earley admitted to tying a rope around her neck and dragging her with his car.

Police said Earley reportedly got angry at Lambert for flirting with another man at a bar.

Lambert was a third grade teacher at a Dallas-area school. She was visiting Earley in Carlsbad when her body was discovered along Highway 31.
