More information is expected to be released Friday about the suspension of the Albuquerque Public Schools police chief.

A private investigator was hired to look at claims of misconduct against Chief Steve Tellez. The APS school board says they have wrapped up the investigation.

So far, the district has not elaborated on the accusations, but board member Kathy Korte said they do not involve students or teachers.

Tensions ran high in the department when Tellez took over as APS police chief. Back in 2010, the APS Police Department voted "no confidence" in Tellez when he was still the interim chief.

The union would not go into detail but said the vote was influenced by poor money management and violations of a union contract.
