A man accused in a homicide investigation faced a judge on Sunday.

Investigators say 25-year-old Steven Stewart shot and killed Nelson Bednorz, put him in a car trunk and set the car on fire.

The incident happened last November.

Bednorz's father told police that his son had sent a text message just days before saying if he was found dead, Stewart was the one responsible.

Stewart was arrested Friday night.

Police worked for several months to find more evidence against him.

Stewart faces homicide charges and is in jail on a $250,000 cash only bond
