The state attorney general's office has filed formal charging documents against the Torrance County manager accused in a corruption case.

Law enforcement officials say Joy Ansley funneled hundreds of thousands of dollars in county contracts to one person: Chris Valdez.

Last week, state District Court Judge Kenneth Martinez found probable cause to bring felony charges against the pair.

Ansley and Valdez now face ten counts, including fraud and conspiracy.

County commissioners fought for her and still do to this day. Ansley is still at her post, but commissioners will not elaborate why.
