The First Judicial District Attorney will not be pursuing charges against a former Bernalillo County district judge.

Pat Murdoch was originally arrested in July 2011 and charged with criminal sexual penetration, intimidation of a witness and bribery.

"We went over all the facts. They do not support the charges," District Attorney Angela Pacheco said.

Pacheco also said credibility issues would be very difficult to overcome.

Nancy Hollander, attorney for Murdoch, told KOB Eyewitness News 4 that the evidence did not support the charges.

Hollander told KOB that Murdoch has always maintained his innocence and is happy with the outcome.

Ahmad Assed, another attorney for Murdoch, sent KOB a statement that reads in part, "It is unfortunate that a fine public servant who served our community for so very long had to be dragged through the mud based solely on groundless accusations."
