A New Mexico State Parks worker who had only been on the job for a few months is now behind bars on a DWI charge.

According to a Santa Fe County Sheriff's Department official, Courtney Upshall was found slumped over the wheel of a marked state park vehicle along a Santa Fe County road on Wednesday afternoon. Deputies said she had an open pint of vodka and prescription pills inside the vehicle.

Deputies arrested Upshall after she failed the field sobriety test, according to the sheriff's department.

Upshall is a probationary state parks employee who worked as a grant coordinator. In a statement, the department said the incident is under investigation and that they will take appropriate action.
