A worker at Sandia National Labs, who is trying to keep his job while he battles leukemia, will not be let go.
Dominic Archuleta used up his paid sick leave and his union wanted to donate vacation time for him, but administrators said his illness did not qualify for the program.
Sandia Labs has set up a leave of absence for him so he can keep his job while he gets a bone marrow transplant.
He will not be paid during that time, so his family has set up a fundraiser account under his name at the Sandia Federal Credit Union.
His job will be waiting for him when he returns.
