A Bosque Farms woman is thanking KOB viewers for reuniting her with a piece of her life she was afraid she would never have back.
Last week, KOB Eyewitness News 4 told viewers about Dolores Trujillo’s desperate search to find her two horses after they were stolen.
They belonged to her 27-year-old son who was killed in a car accident last year.
After more than a month of searching, nothing turned up until a KOB 4 viewer saw her story.
Abbie the Apaloosa had been tied to the fence post of a horse rescue run by a woman near Tome, NM.
“A friend of hers saw the program, and then Facebooked [sic] it to her and she said 'I think I have those people's horse,'” Trujillo said.
The horse was badly abused by whoever stole her and was much skinnier than she looked in Dolores’ pictures.
However, the owner of the rescue still recognized Abbie on KOB.
She found Dolores and reunited them.
It is a beautiful thing and a miracle that Abbie is still alive, but there were two horses stolen.
“I just want to bring the other one back now, and then we'll have our complete horse family back,” Trujillo said.
Dolores hopes her 24-year-old brown Morgan Mare is still out there somewhere.
“She can't say what happened or what she went through, you know?” Trujillo said.
But for now it is all about catching up.
“You're back home now, you're OK,” Trujillo said to Abbie.
