The Lobo men's basketball team is coming off a big win and heading to a big game.

A lot of lobo fans are following right behind them.

The Lobos are taking on Stanford in their first game in the NCAA Tournament Friday.

Flights to St. Louis are limited. Several airline companies say seats are being booked by Lobo fans expecting to see a win.

It’s an exciting time to be a Lobo!

Many fans are proudly flying their flags and flying out of New Mexico to support their team in the NCAA.

The Lobos play Friday, and if they win, they'll play again on Sunday.

If you left for St. Louis Thursday and returned Monday, a roundtrip would cost you $634 on both Delta and American and $724 on Southwest Airlines... and $817 on United.

Officials with Southwest Airlines say they are booking up fast and most flights to St. Louis only have five to seven seats left.

But Lobo fans know no cost when it comes to seeing their team climb to the top.

“We’re very excited, with St. Louis we weren't very sure how many people would go out to the Midwest.”

Lee De Leon with the Lobo Club says there are already 250 club members committed to going to the Midwest.

“We have an incredible fan base one of the best college basketball fan base in the country,” he said.

If you can't travel to St. Louis this Friday there are several watch parties happening around town including at the UNM sub.

The current average gas prices along the route, according to AAA are as high as $3.41 a gallon in Oklahoma City, and $3.57 in St.Louis.
