Pedestrian killed while crossing I-40

One person was killed late Thursday night while attempting to cross Interstate 40 near the Route 66 Casino in Albuquerque. 

Sgt. Aaron Williamson with the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Department reported that the pedestrian was struck and killed at approximately 11 p.m. 

Investigators with BCSO shut down I-40 for more than seven hours while they investigated and gathered evidence at the scene.

I-40 reopened to traffic at approximately 6:30 a.m.
