A competency hearing for the 12-year-old boy accused of shooting two classmates in Roswell is scheduled for Friday.

The hearing will determine if Mason Campbell is competent to stand trial.

In January, Roswell police said Campbell opened fire in the Berrendo Middle School gym, wounding 12-year-old Nathaniel Tavarez and 13-year-old Kendall Sanders.

Both victims are recovering at their homes in Roswell.

Mason Campbell, 12, is accused of shooting two classmates at Berrendo Middle School.
Nathaniel Tavarez and Kendall Sanders were hurt in the shooting.
