It's already a pain when we pump for gas these days, especially with prices pushing $3.40 a gallon. At one gas station up at the state capitol, the pain at the pump just became that much worse.

"Thieves used some sort of device to read people's credit card," said Celina Westervelt with the Santa Fe Police Department.

The station that was hit: Giant on Sawmill Road just off Rodeo. The thieves are able to wirelessly receive card numbers, pins, and other information to access your account, which they have already done to hundreds.

Westervelt stated that SFPD knows of at least 600 people from Del Norte Credit Union whose information has been compromised.

One customer from Los Alamos National Bank was ripped off for a grand!

So far, 17 of the stolen card numbers have been used in Nevada. That's the only lead in this ongoing investigation.

If you think you've been a victim of this scam, be sure to call Santa Fe Police Dispatch. Their number is 505-428-3710.
