The Corrales community raised $6,000 for an officer who was badly injured in a high speed chase.

Corrales Police officer Jeremy Romero is still undergoing physical therapy after breaking his back when he crashed his vehicle.

The Corrales Fire Department put together a silent auction to help Romero.

"He is a member of our community,” organizer Tom Brown said. “Corrales is a small community and we have to take care of our own."

There will be another auction on Saturday.

Information on that auction can be found here
