A 2-year-old child was found unresponsive at a home in the Westgate Community in Southwest Albuquerque on Sunday afternoon.

The Albuquerque Police Department, CYFD and the Crimes Against Children Unit are investigating.

The child was taken to the hospital just after 2 p.m.

KOB has confirmed that once doctors looked at the child’s injuries, it was determined that CYFD and Crimes Against Children needed to be called and an investigation opened.

Everyone inside the house is being interviewed.

Neighbor Christine Garcia says she knows the family well and knows they do not have a 2-year-old, but also says she saw a lot of children that she did not recognize at the home on Sunday.

"They're a very good family...very good family,” Garcia said. “We don't have problems like this in this neighborhood at all. I'm worried about the child. Hopefully the child's okay, I'm sure whatever happened was an accident, you know, like I said...we don't have...we talk to them all the time; we talk to the neighbors all the time."

The investigation is in the beginning stages.
