Nine months after a fire caused nearly half a million dollars in damages, the North Valley Library finally reopened on Tuesday.

According to the Albuquerque-Bernalillo County Library Facebook page, library staff and volunteers began restocking the North Valley Library on March 17. Some enhancements are not yet in place, including new reading chairs and a new young adult area, but the library says they will be installed as soon as they arrive.

The library will celebrate its official reopening with a formal ceremony on Friday, May 2 at 2:30 p.m.
