It's an all too realistic warning.

A fire sparked in the Bosque near Atrisco and I-40 on Wednesday night with flames shooting into the air about seven feet high. Luckily, firefighters were able to contain the fire. The cause of the fire remains under investgiation.

This news had a lot of people worried – is this the beginning of an active fire season?

There are always restrictions throughout the state around this time of year because of the heat, the wind and the dry brush.

In Albuquerque, open space areas always have restrictions that include the Bosque. Restrictions include no smoking, no fireworks, no open fires and no camping. If you're caught violating the restrictions, you could be fined up to $500, go to jail for 90 days or both.
