A man wanted in connection to a shootout that left a 3-year-old injured is now behind bars, according to Espanola police.

Mackie Roybal, 20, turned himself in around 3 p.m. on Friday. He is currently being held in the Rio Arriba County Detention Center.

According to police, Roybal and 19-year-old Dylan Vigil shot at each other last week in Espanola's Walmart parking lot. A stray bullet hit a child in the leg while she was leaving the store with her father. Police said the bullet was centimeters away from hitting a major artery.

Vigil was arrested shortly after the incident.

Police said Roybal gave full disclosure of the events at the Walmart parking lot. Investigators are currently looking for two additional suspects who were in the vehicle with him.
