A lot of homeowners across New Mexico have a big mess this weekend, picking up downed trees and garbage that was blown into their yards.
The winds were so strong, reaching up to 58 miles per hour in the metro area, that it uprooted a large tree downtown near 10th and Coal.
The tree fell on a home belonging to Manual Chacon. He couldn't believe what he came home to Saturday evening.
"I turned the corner and I saw the tree and I was pretty shocked like, that can't be my place. That is my place!" Chacon said.
Chacon said cleanup will start tomorrow, but others around the city have already started.
Chacon said he just moved back to New Mexico less than a month ago.
He said its nature's way of welcoming him back home.
