It sounded like a great deal.

“Here he is waking me up at 7 o'clock in the morning saying I won money.”

But Sandra Maestas instantly thought, maybe too good to be true.

“Two million dollars and a Mercedes Benz car and they were going to be here that day to deliver it.” She said.

All she had to do is put $1,500 on a "Green Dot Card."

“I just said, you think I’m a fool or what?”

But Sandra gave the caller the number for a green dot card anyway. Except this card had no money on it. And that's when the scammer got abusive and called her names KOB Eyewitness News 4 won’t print.

“And I said excuse me? And I hung up the phone I was pissed when he called me that name.”

The scammer didn’t stop, Sandra says she received more than 30 calls in a five-day period.

“Finally I said I have had enough of this.”

She says the calls finally ended after she contacted the sheriff's office.

“They think we are stupid,” she laughed, “and we are not.”

And she knows what to say if she hears from these scammers again.

“I haven't won jack, hang up; I haven't entered no contest, hang up…If you want money go freaking work for it like everybody else does.”
