Paseo Del Norte has reopened in both directions after a motorcycle crash on Friday morning.

The incident took place around 8:30 a.m. when a group of motorcyclists traveled westbound on Paseo toward 4th Street. Witnesses told the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Department that one of the motorcyclists fell off his bike after suffering from some type of medical episode.

The motorcycle continued to travel a short distance before falling over.

The rider was taken to UNM Hospital, where he is being treated for his injuries.

BCSO Sgt. Aaron Williamson said the man was wearing a helmet and that speed and alcohol did not appear to be factors in the crash.

Paseo was closed in both directions from Coors to Jefferson for a short period of time around 8:30 a.m.
