A bank robbery suspect is in custody after two Albuquerque banks were hit on Saturday morning.

Randy Lee Gallahan, 54, was arrested in connection to the robbery of the Bank of America on 4th Street near Osuna. He is expected to appear in U.S. District Court in Albuquerque on Monday.

Witnesses said the suspect entered the bank at approximately 9:10 a.m. and verbally demanded money from a teller. The man left the bank with an undisclosed amount of money.

The FBI and APD later responded to a report of another possible bank robbery at the Wells Fargo on Juan Tabo near Central. Witnesses said a man wearing a mask entered the bank at approximately 10:10 a.m., but left without demanding money.

The male suspect was described as 6 feet tall and Hispanic, wearing brown pants and a dark jacket.

The FBI is still investigating whether the robberies were related.

Anyone with information is urged to call the FBI at (505)-889-1300.
