Police searched through the southwest Albuquerque landfill on Friday but say they cannot elaborate on what they were looking for.

A KOB viewer sent a tip into the newsroom saying police were searching for a newborn baby in the Cerro Colorado Landfill. The viewer sent in a picture of crews in white suits looking through the trash.

APD said it was an ongoing investigation and that they couldn't provide details because the parties involved are juveniles. Police say no evidence of a crime has been found at this time.

A spokesperson with the Solid Waste Department, which runs the landfill, confirmed that APD was at the landfill, but said they left.

The Children, Youth and Families Department is working to get KOB more information on the case.
