Every week, Karla Valdez gets food for her family at St. Felix Pantry in Rio Rancho. She's a single mom of three, and without St. Felix, she and her kids would be hungry.
"I'm trying to get whatever I find," Valdez said.
New Mexico has ranked No. 1 in childhood hunger for the second year in a row—A number that's unacceptable to the folks at St. Felix.
To fight the issue, St. Felix has created a program in Bernalillo, where every Thursday, the focus is on families.
The pantry relies on grants and donations. Donations they could really use right now, especially for the kids.
