The Albuquerque Fire Department contained a fire at the Mountain Run apartment complex in the Northeast Heights on Friday.

Just before noon, AFD received reports of a fire venting from the roof of one of the buildings, located at 5800 Eubank. Residents were quickly evacuated from the complex.

Deputy AFD Chief Vic Padilla said four apartment units were on fire when crews arrived at the scene. Six were involved by the time the flames were extinguished.

Padilla said there were no reports of injuries. The cause of the fire is still unknown.

American Red Cross crews are on scene assisting 12 families with temporary housing and essential items. Several AFD units will remain on scene to watch for hot spots.
