Bernalillo County sheriff's deputies took a man into custody on Saturday evening after he led them on a chase through Albuquerque with three children in the car.

Around 5 p.m., BCSO Sgt. Aaron Williamson said a deputy observed the man, later identified as Adrein Roybal, driving recklessly near 4th and Candelaria. As the deputy attempted to stop the vehicle, Williamson said Roybal fled at a high rate of speed.

During the pursuit, the initial deputy was involved in a crash with another motorist near Bryn Mawr and Menaul. A second deputy continued with the pursuit.

A backup unit responding to the pursuit was also involved in a minor crash near 4th and Osuna.

Roybal turned west onto Menaul when deputies performed a PIT maneuver to stop him. Prior to the PIT maneuver, Williamson said the vehicle lost control and struck a power pole.

Roybal was wanted on parole violations and will face new charges to include aggravated fleeing, according to BCSO.

A female passenger in the car was transported to UNM Hospital for complaints of injuries.

The three children in the vehicle were treated and released from the scene.
