Half their team was arrested for fighting, and now some baseball coaches at Eastern New Mexico University could be in trouble.
Campus police arrested 17 players for a fight on campus last month, but the chaos didn’t stop when the fight was over.
According to the incident report, several players started yelling at police and one player even lunged at an officer.
But police say it wasn’t just the players.
Officers say some coaches also became confrontational and encouraged the players not to cooperate.
According to the report, one coach told an officer he would be sued and lose his job.
The officers say another coach and an assistant coach had their cell phones out recording the arrests.
The 17 players immediately bonded out of jail and were allowed to return to the field that same night.
The coaches were not arrested, but they could face discipline from the school.
The players are also facing disciplinary action that could include suspension.
