A City of Albuquerque employee has resigned following a DWI arrest.

The city accepted Elias Gallegos' resignation Sunday.

Gallegos was the constituent services liaison for the city.

Sources tell KOB Eyewitness News 4 Gallegos was at the mayor and first lady's charity gala Friday evening hours prior to his arrest, but it is unknown if he had drinks there or if he went somewhere else before he was pulled over.

Court documents say police saw Gallegos swerving in and out of his lane and speeding down I-40.

Officers say Gallegos failed every sobriety test he was given, including a breath test which was over the legal drinking limit.

As a constituent services liaison, Gallegos was responsible for receiving complaints from the public.

Gallegos also works as a host for GOV-TV.

KOB tried talking with Gallegos, but he wasn't home.
