A Roswell man is behind bars Tuesday for stealing something that must not have been easy: A very large septic tank.

Bill Dennis says when he got back from a trip to Phoenix in March, his septic tank was missing from his property.

"I told him no I didn't move it and he said, well it's gone," said Dennis.

Dennis says he immediately dropped by the Roswell Recycling Center.

And sure enough, on video surveillance Dennis found out exactly what had happened to it.

Video surveillance shows the accused thief driving the 17,000 pound septic tank into the Roswell Recycling Center.

Police say the man driving that truck is Forest Holladay.

Video surveillance shows him walking in to the office to make the transaction.

According to the receipt, Holladay got nearly $1,500 cash for that tank.

After deputies got their hands on the evidence, it took over two months to find Holladay.

They got him on Monday, when he showed up at the Roswell Recycling Center again.

The manager says he immediately recognized him and called police.

Holladay is charged with larceny and tampering with evidence.

And Dennis is out a 17,000 pound septic tank because the recycling center had already cut it up.

"I feel like that money should have been in my pocket and as it is now even if he goes to jail, I get nothing," said Dennis.
