A New Mexico high school is banning backpacks for the next two days in light of a bomb threat and the discovery of a gun.
Belen Schools tells KOB Eyewitness News 4 some notes were found at the high school Wednesday morning, referencing that bomb threat.
A short time later, a security guard noticed a knife in a student's car.

School officials suspended the student.
This is the last week of school in Belen, and the district will have extra security through Friday.
