Sometimes the littlest things can end up being big problems. That seems to be the case at the University of New Mexico Pit parking lot, where a new sign is causing a major danger for drivers.

The sign, a seemingly harmless list of UNM sports facilities on the corner near the north Pit parking lot exit to Avendia Cesar Chavez, is a major blind spot for anyone turning onto Avenida Cesar Chavez from The Pit's north exit.

If you stop at the stop line, it's easy to see traffic coming on Avenida Cesar Chavez. But if you move up to where you need to be to turn left or right, there's absolutely no way to see past that sign. It's an accident waiting to happen.

At a popular venue like The Pit, those close calls are all the more nerve racking.

KOB Eyewitness News 4 asked UNM what they're going to do about the sign. The university says they know about the problem. There are still two more of the signs on order for other spots on campus, and when they arrive within the next month or so, they will move this sign back closer to the building.
