People all across the metro saw downpours Friday. It wasn't a good day for Botanic Garden, but we found people there. We also got some incredible images and video from different parts of Albuquerque where residents were seeing hail.
The arroyos all across Albuquerque were flowing. Most of us love it and the area desperately needs it. The Albuquerque Metro is about an inch below where it is supposed to be this time of year.
But there are some residents in Corrales praying against the rain.
"Now this is what I come through every day," Patrick Marquez said.
His driveway has a huge crevasse right through the middle. One wrong step and you'll fall right in.
"See where this crack is at right here, it's ready to come off because it's a waterfall...it becomes a waterfall," Marquez said.
Marquez said almost a year ago, a big storm brought too much rain and it all came rushing down the hill in his back yard, filling arroyos and creating a river behind his home.
He has called city leaders, county leaders, engineers, even Governor Martinez's office, and still huge crevasses plague the land around his home. He is afraid with another big washout he won't be able to get in or out of his home. Memorial Day weekend, he just might find out.
