Motorcyclist killed in I-40 crash

I-40 westbound at the Big I was reopened at approximately 6:45 p.m. after a fatal crash involving a vehicle and a motorcycle.

Albuquerque police say a motorcyclist and his passenger were traveling on I-40 near 6th Street when the motorcycle ran over a ladder that fell out of a truck. The motorcyclist was unable to stop in time and collided with the back of the truck.

The motorcyclist died from his injuries sustained in the crash. His passenger is currently in critical condition.

Police have not released the names of those involved in the crash.
