A woman in Albuquerque was hit in the face with a bullet that came through her windshield while she was driving.

Albuquerque Police say the woman was driving westbound on Paseo Del Norte near Unser Friday around 4:15 pm.  She had just passed the bridge near Unser when a bullet came through the windshield and went right into her nose.

Police do not know if the suspect was on the bridge or on the side of the road.  They also don't know if the woman was targeted or if it was completely random.

It's an alarming mystery, especially for drivers in the area.

"That's scary.  We drive through here every day.  That's horrible," one driver said.

Initially police believed the woman's injuries were not life-threatening.  Police have not released an update on her condition.  A witness reported seeing a man on the bridge at the time, but Police do not know if that was related to the incident.
